What SaysHere does
SaysHere turns speech near your device into text, with Deepgram or OpenAI or, when your plan and your device allow it, on the device itself, and shows you the transcript as it goes. Beyond the transcript, this version shows no running summary and no sentence from your notes. While fact-checking against public sources is on, SaysHere also compares a statement said in the session with a sentence from English Wikipedia and shows you both, with the article's address. A check is not a ruling. Wikipedia can contain errors or be out of date, and a comparison can miss the point, so read the source before you rely on it. SaysHere is not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and it is not therapy or counselling.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to use SaysHere. An account is for one person. You sign in with a code sent to your email address or another way the sign-in screen offers. A code sent to your address always opens your account, so keep control of that address. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
Using SaysHere fairly
- Do not use SaysHere to listen to people without their knowledge, or to transcribe a conversation where the law requires everyone's agreement and you do not have it.
- Do not hide SaysHere from the people you talk with. It has no hidden mode and will not have one.
- Do not use SaysHere to break the law or OpenAI's usage policies, to get around the time on your plan, to overload the service, or to reach parts of it you were not given.
Plans, renewal and cancellation
The free plan gives 120 minutes of live listening a month. Plus gives 15 hours a month for $14.00 a month or $140.00 a year. Pro gives 30 hours a month for $24.00 a month or $240.00 a year. Team gives 35 hours a month for each seat, pooled for the team. A seat costs $29.00 a month or $290.00 a year. A top-up adds 10 hours for $9.00, bought once and never renewed; its hours are spent after your plan's month and lapse 30 days after the purchase. A refund of a top-up ends its hours, and a dispute holds them while it is open and ends them if it is lost. Prices are in US dollars, and paid plans are sold to customers with a billing address in the United States.
A paid plan renews automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price shown when you bought it, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time on the account page under Manage or cancel, or, if you cannot sign in, by writing to team@sayshere.com from your billing address. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your plan stays on until the end of the period you paid for. SaysHere emails you at least 7 and at most 30 days before a price change takes effect, and reminds you of a yearly plan's renewal 15 to 45 days before it. A monthly plan gets a yearly reminder 15 to 45 days before the anniversary of the day it started. The refunds and cancellation page says when a charge is refunded.
A free period is given at SaysHere's discretion and ends on the date shown, or sooner if SaysHere withdraws it. Nothing is paid for it, so there is nothing to refund.
Team plans and seats
These Team sections apply to an organisation only from the day it buys a Team plan, and to a person only from the day they join its team. They ask nothing of anyone who does neither, and they change nothing in a personal plan.
The organisation that buys a Team plan is the customer. A new team's plan starts with one seat, for its Owner, and a plan bought again after the last one ended starts with a seat for each member. Each time an invited person joins, a seat is added and charged. The charge covers the rest of the current monthly or yearly billing period. If the payment needs another step, such as confirming the card, the person joins once it goes through.
When a member leaves or is removed, their seat stays paid until the team's pool resets at the start of the team's next month. Its hours stay in the pool until the reset, and someone who joins before it takes that seat at no charge.
In the hour before the pool resets, SaysHere takes the held seat off the recurring charge. Someone who joins after that pays for their seat for the rest of the billing period. On a yearly plan, the unused part of the seat's yearly price is credited to the team's future invoices. If the seat comes off the bill only after the plan has renewed, the unused part of the new billing period is credited the same way.
A Team plan renews each month or year for every seat it holds until it is cancelled. The Owner, or an Admin the Owner lets manage billing, can cancel it with Manage billing in the team's Plan and billing section. The plan stays on to the end of the period already paid and then stops. Members keep their personal workspaces and can still open the team's members, settings, usage and billing as their role allows.
When someone leaves a team
The team's Owner can remove any other member at any time, and an Admin can remove a Member. When a member leaves or is removed, their access to the team ends at once, and a session they are running in the team stops. What they shared with the team stays with it under their name. Sessions, documents and folders they did not share with the team are deleted, and the share links they made in the team stop working. Their personal workspace and their own plan, with its hours and top-ups, are untouched.
When a member leaves or is removed, SaysHere deletes the files they added from Google Drive, including those they shared with the team. Those files come from the member's own Google account.
Time on your plan
A plan's time runs by month: the free plan by calendar month in Coordinated Universal Time, a paid plan from the day and time it started. Unused time does not carry over. When it runs out and no top-up hours remain, the session ends and the page says what you can do next. To keep the service's costs bounded, SaysHere may stop new sessions for the rest of a day when its daily limit is reached; sessions already running finish.
Meeting bots
A meeting bot joins a Google Meet or Microsoft Teams call for you, turns its sound into text with Deepgram and shows you the transcript as it goes. You may send a bot only to a call you have the right to bring it into. It joins under the name its settings give it, which always holds "SaysHere", or in Google Meet as the SaysHere account it signs in with. It posts its notice before it listens, and leaves and deletes everything it took when anyone in the call types SaysHere stop or uses its notice link. You may not hide the bot, name it to look like a person, or have it join without its notice. Where the law that applies to anyone in the call requires everyone's agreement first, get it before you send the bot.
A workspace can hold several named bots, and every one of them posts the same notice.
Bot time is sold in blocks of 10 hours, each paid once and used within 12 months of its payment. A bot uses bot time and never your plan's listening hours. Its time runs from the moment it tries to join until it leaves, waiting room included, and a bot that never starts listening uses none. A bot run lasts at most 4 hours.
In a Zoom meeting nothing joins the call. SaysHere takes notes through your own Zoom account, in a meeting you host or are invited to and are in. Before you start, paste the notice with its stop link in the meeting's chat; you may not confirm it was pasted when it was not. The notes stop, and everything they took is deleted, when anyone uses the stop link or the host stops the app in Zoom. Notes in a Zoom meeting use the same bot time as a bot and last at most 4 hours.
Your notes and your words
Your notes, your transcripts and your summaries are yours. You allow SaysHere and OpenAI to handle them only to provide the service to you, as the privacy page describes. While fact-checking against public sources is on, a search phrase of at most six words, made from what was said, goes to English Wikipedia. The Wikimedia Foundation, which runs Wikipedia, handles it under its own terms. Nothing else of yours goes to Wikipedia. You confirm that you have the right to use the notes you add, and that the people whose speech you transcribe have agreed where the law requires it.
Changes to the service
SaysHere works to keep the service available but does not promise that it will always be available or free of errors. It may change features; it will not take away what a paid plan includes during a period you have paid for.
Liability
SaysHere is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, Manic Agency LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and its total liability to you is limited to what you paid for SaysHere in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that the law of the place where you live does not allow to be limited.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using SaysHere and delete your account at any time. SaysHere may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If SaysHere closes an account for any other reason, it refunds the part of a paid period not yet used.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.
Changes to these terms
SaysHere emails account holders about a material change at least 30 days before it takes effect.
