Introducing SaysHere
SaysHere is a notetaker that works in your browser. Press Start, and it listens to the call or lecture in front of you and writes a live transcript as people talk. This post covers what it does today, who we built it for, what it costs, and what we are building next.
What it does today
Press Start and SaysHere listens through your browser, turning what people say into a live transcript on your screen as they talk. The transcript grows line by line, so a sentence you half heard is there to read again a moment later.
Your notes have a page of their own, the Notes page, and they are kept in your browser on your device. Write down what you want to remember: a figure from last quarter, a deadline, the question you mean to ask.
Two parts are planned and not in the app yet. The first brings up your own note when the talk turns to it, so the figure you wrote down is in front of you when someone mentions it. The second keeps a running summary of the conversation so far. Until they arrive, nothing from your notes appears during a session.
Who it is for
We built SaysHere for the hours when you have to listen closely and keep a record at the same time:
- Students in lectures, who want the lecturer's words on the page while they follow the argument.
- People on sales calls, who need to hear the customer instead of typing.
- People in interviews, who would rather watch the person across from them than a notebook.
- Anyone in a team meeting who has to speak and keep notes at once.
In each case the transcript does the writing, and you keep your attention on the person talking.
What it costs
Every account starts free, with two hours of listening a month. Two paid plans add hours:
- Plus: 15 hours a month for $14 a month, or $140 for a year.
- Pro: 30 hours a month for $24 a month, or $240 for a year.
Each plan is a number of hours a month, shown on the pricing page before you pay.
What we are building next
These are planned. None of them is in the app today:
- Imports from Gmail, Google Drive and GitHub into your notes, so the email thread, the shared document or the project notes you already wrote are in your notes before the call.
- Apps for the phone and the computer, so SaysHere is a tap away when a call starts.
- An outside security review: a penetration test and an independent review of our code. Our post on security and the audits we are scheduling sets out the plan.
We call each of them planned until you can use it.
The quickest way to judge SaysHere is on your next call. Try the notetaker now, or compare the plans on the pricing page.
